actually, my favorite costume was my son's age-3 helicopter costume, which he designed himself by making circular motions around his head and his butt. so i constructed a tail rotor and a top rotor, and he *really* looked like a helicopter.
we didn't have cameras in those days, but it was when i was in grad school. this was a long time ago when a whale was trapped into an ice (there used to be ice near the poles on earth) and a fellow grad student came in blue sweatpants and sweatshirt with ice cubes in ziplock bags safety pinned to himself.
